France Day 35
I’ve been attending AA meetings for two years and emotional support group meetings (EA) for about the same time. I came to a region of France that has the highest suicide rate and is known for its excessive consumption of alcohol.
That being said, I think things are going pretty well. Today Mary, Aziliz and I met with M. Pichon. I was so happy to hear that they were happy with me and I was happy with them. They said they are glad I engage with them and that I have taught lessons around the table and have helped the kids with their homework. I brought up the concern that I wasn’t doing enough, that I was perhaps freeloading. Mary said no and that if it made me feel better she would have me start helping her prepare dinner.
Last night with Eric was a lot of fun. Sure it was awkward as hell, and as we were sitting in the bar with other people I got a whiff of my shoes and started freaking out. But I am finding that the less mean I am to myself, the happier I am and the nicer I am to people. I have manifested the intention of being an English assistant in France and have enthusiastically brought it up to “M. Pichon” and am going to ask the beautiful carefree generous and open Alexandra for the number of the Canadian woman who teaches English here. I have set that intention and am detached from the outcome. I spent a really pleasant day with the family. They are really nice and loving and accepting, and for that, I am truly grateful. <3
